    HTML checker

    Hi,
I don't know if any of you have used this checker. Just enter a web page URL and all the missing tags will be displayed.

Don't be disheartened if your site contains a lot of missing tags, "popular site" like yahoo, also shares the same fate

The site claims that "In the future, browsers will require strict HTML code..." Don't know how true, though!

    Check it out!

Well, I typed in http://www.bismikaallahuma.org, and the page informed me the following:

"Congratulations... this Web page is perfect. (You might give your Web designer a raise.)"

Hehehehe...I should give myself a raise!

popular site needs no follow the standards. People only care about the contents.

Who cares the site follow the standard or not, as long as it can be displayed correctly?

btw, if you want to check for html standard, you should use W3.ORG one: http://validator.w3.org/

    Hi lcf,

    Thanks for the url.

    GeminiGeek,
    <br> can still be used.
Having a closed tag of </br> is a precautionary step of the next generation xhtml.

<br> is for HTML. For XHTML, every tag need to be closed. So the correct tag changed to <br />. However, since our browser support HTML, <br> is nothing wrong(just not comform to XHTML lah~).

    indeed, <br> is OK.

however, i encourage fellow web designers to use XHTML (at least transitional, please) and use well-formed tags (no <p> without </p>, <br />, etc.)

Well, for one thing, Dreamweaver does not have those messy codes such as <SPAN></SPAN>, <DIR</DIR>, etc. Itu MS pepandai jerr bubuh.

Secondly, Dreamweaver has this "clean codes" feature, meaning that it checks your codes for errors and corrects them automatically if it detects them.

And finally, Dreamweaver gives you more control over the page design than MS Frontpage does. Great for me...

Doesn't mean that you cannot use MS Frontpage-lah...cuma tak digalakkan kalau u nak take your site further than where you are.
