    Database connection

    Hi
    I have been trying to get to a database developement that I have created in my Bluevoda Control Panel.
    However when I try and test the database using Dreamweaver, the only database it shows is "information_schema"

    When I enter the password for my database I get the message "access denied for user xxxxxxx_tidus @'localhost' using password: YES

    am I forgetting to do something?

    all help much appreciated

    thanks!!

    Jess

    Syitty death! Oh sorry... I just looked at the bluevoda website and forgot I had my headphones unplugged. The voice scared the life out of me!

    am I forgetting to do something?
    Have you asked bluevoda? If you're using a proprietary website builder, you might be lucky to find someone outside bluevoda who can help. I haven't heard anyone mention it here before...

    are you trying to access the remote db server from your pc?
    if yes, then change the localhost to your server ip.

    the information_schema is mysql information db and leave this one alone... you should have installed a copy of mysql server at your local pc...
    if you don't see any other schema.. then you have not created the database yet....

    the error might be caused by one of the following:-
    1. wrong username and/or password
    2. wrong database schema name
    3. wrong port no
    4. wrong hostname - this usually "localhost" in the server (if you accessing the db from remote pc then change to the server ip)
    5. the username have not assigned right to access the schema

    other than that... contact your hosting/server ppl for further support

    If the database is still not accessible even after entering correct data as stated above, HTTP tunneling would get you going.

    the basic php mysql connection is as below....

    PHP Code:
    $con mysql_connect("YOUR_HOST_IP","USER_NAME","USER_PWD");
    if (!
    $con)
      {
      die(
    'Could not connect: ' mysql_error());
      }

    mysql_select_db("YOUR_SCHEMA_NAME"$con);
    $query  "SELECT * FROM YOUR-TABLE";
    $result mysql_query($query);
    maybe you something wrong with your coding or your hosting provider is blocking outsider to connect to the mysql...

    try to access a local pc database to see whether your coding is correct or not first...

    check also your firewall and antivirus whether they are blocking it...

    This is because you don't have the permission to connect to the MySQL Server.
    Go to your cPanel, find "Remote MySQL"
    Add your IP there and done.

    If you are using Directadmin, you can first creating the Mysql Database and also the Mysql user / password then you can try to connect again.
