    Question Create Email Account

Does anyone know how to create our own email account ...@ourcompany.com.my ?

For your info, I have a server with static IP address in 'LAN' UUM. Dan server tu dah ada domain name sendiri, CONTOH addrs ---> www.mzana.uum.edu.my (contoh saja, tak wujud pun).

Jadi sekarang ni, mcm mana nak jadikan server ni sbg mail server supaya boleh dapat email ....@mzana.uum.edu.my . Software apa yang perlu, mcm mana nak setting. Pleaseeee....

Try downloading a webbase email script/app (preferably Perl of C, but the lang doesn't matter). An example is IMail.

Then update your MXrecords to your domain to point it to your mail server. If you don't have access to you MXrecords, you should contact the server/network admin or domain name issuer.

Or, you can use a third-party such as everyone.net or bigmailbox.net

    Good luck!

sorry... another thing. you must have access to your MX Records to recieve incoming emails even with the third-party sites.

to install a mail server, we need another computer, act as a mail server and get connected 24x7x365?
It is possible to modify or program an app to allow self-registration.

You do not necessarily need a seperate server acting as your mail server. You can use your existing webserver as a mail server as well, and yes it would be practical to run your webserver/mailserver 24x7x365 - When you recieve mail, it has to be stored somewhere rite ?
