according to macromedia's help file(s) for dreamweaver 2/3 , dw could also do this preloader screen.. though i never tried it. in dw, just create a layer and name it preload.. but my memory is a little fuzzy so it would do u good to read the help file. havent read the dw MX help file yet, so please bear with me. heh.

    a stupid trick of mine..
first... make a table to place the image..
create an image for table background ( LOADING TEXT IMAGE maybe).. and it should be less than 3KB ..
then put the image inside the table..
    -
your browser surely will load bground image first before others..
so... maybe you will get "a loading image." :P
    but it's not suitable for 10 - 20 sliced image .
    muahahhaha...

not all browsers load/display the background first. some load the smallest image (by filesize) first so this technique doesn't always work. it should work for IE though..

mysticmind: yeah, I already know that. but it's no suitable enough because i must create table for each pic and the html file will get bigger..
