    Root Folder for Joomla

    Hi,

I have one technical question if anyone can help.I have installed joomla using Pleask control panel in my webhosting.

however, the website now is www.xxx.com/joomla.

how can i change that to Xxx.com to make it default page ?

do i need to move the joomla folder out of the httpdocs folder ?

    thanks in advance

You will need to reinstall, and this time, set / as ur root directory. I am not sure if PLESK allow you to do that or not. for cPanel + Fantastico Deluxe, it does allow.

    1. if your Joomla is clean, without any data. No need to backup.

    2. I m not too sure about how PLESK installer works, but normally (exp: in cpanel), it will ask where you want to install. Instead of "/joomla" then you may consider put "/"

Actually there is advantage of installing in a sub folder, at least the files of Joomla are more organized. In the future when you want to add other scripts, each of it will have separate folder.

    3. Yes, the root of web folder.

Thanks for the advice. IT seem to be more complicated that i have expected. I have some content alrady and wordpress install in the sub folder.

Can anyone able to help me to move or reinstasll to root folder Xxx.net rather than www.xxx.net/joomla or www.xxx.net/wordpress ?

there is nothing in the wordpress yet and jommla just text content.
