This is because my web site is design just for IE. Can someone give me any referrer URL/website for this issue? It will be nice if someone can including with a coding/programming to do this.

    Exclamation

    Edit httpd.conf

In your <Directory "/whatever/your/document/root/is"> add something like:

    BrowserMatch MSIE darwinaward
    Deny from env=!darwinaward

Might not be exactly right spelling etc. I wouldn't put that in my conf, I want visitors.

Don't be so mean! Maybe he has a grudge against Firefox, hehehe. But I think the real reason is most probably that his website does not display well in Firefox.

Nop. I just a heavy internet user but got a headache when develop/design dynamic a web site which have to winning-for-all browser. On certain circumstance/condition/environment you have to choose your audience/target to make sure ur can delivery with a best output or just to make sure your browser support it. For example local website you can surf here with your Mozilla - WATCH VIDEO . I know your answer because of this issue - "Microsoft DRM Technologies" . To make it easy with now-a-day browser war so better i choose specific who's my audience for my content delivery. If i got a long time frame, of course i will make this web is compatible with all browser. Thanxs

Hye Ekompute. I appreciate your feedback.Frankly i heavy user of Mozilla(even when i type this on Mozilla) but for some certain issue when i have to design/develop dynamic website base on mainstream web browser which i have to choose IE. Before this i already do a some method during i develop/design a mobile/wap web site which i denied all of PC-base browser coz my target is mobile browser. But my last hard disk was dead so i got no more backup. What i have to do is on my web page have to identify browser string if not match so i denied. For browser string listing can refer here:

Browser ID Strings (a.k.a. User Agent ID)

So i need a help with my short time frame to done this, my enviroment is ASPX (web script) & IIS (web server). Can anyone help? Thanxs.

I almost posted a PHP method too, good job I didn't! How about checking the HTTP request User-Agent in your ASP and sending a redirect for non MSIE browsers? Do you have one point in your code that always gets executed before the page is constructed?

Thanks for that astro link, that redirect is totally shoddy, I must never buy anything from them. They include some javascript with the page in browser-detect.js that does:

    window.location.assign(redirNotSupported);

Wireshark is your friend in these cases. Their method does result in a lot of traffic between client and server before the redirect happens - I'm sure it could be done more efficiently on the server. Hey! Are you getting paid for this solution? Cups of coffee are always gratefully received!

there are two examples in w3schools... maybe you can take a look..

    in javascript:--- JavaScript Browser Detection

in ASP server objects:-- ASP Browser Capabilities

just detect the browser type and use javascript window location or asp response.redirect to change the page....

omg... the best designs should cater to Firefox.. not IE... as IE is not really compliant

anyway, designs that cater to only certain browsers are bad for business ... if ur site can't display in FF, chances are it'll break in Opera as well .. did u check?

depending on ur target audience/location, you may lose up to 30% of potential business hehe

u are absolutely correct.... if firefox don't display well.. there goes same with opera/netscape(or others that based on mozilla engine)/safari...
most of the time, browser compatibility is caused by the visual editor that the programmer use and not the browser type itself.....

Hi Defcon, I really envy you that you can afford to cut off Firefox users. For my website at Ensiklokamus Teknologi Maklumat, 54.8% of my visitors use Firefox, with 36.2% using Internet Explorer. With such a distribution, I will be half-dead if I were to lock out my visitors who are using Firefox.

I suggest you just put up a notice like many other websites do, ie. "Best viewed with Internet Explorer".

most ppl now use firefox. US and a few of EU's countries even ban use of IE in their offices for security reason. and thus, if your website is IE only also means your html is not w3c compliant.

but the link below is a good start

it's not people fault to use firefox.
even myself use 99% all time firefox..

    It's about you!
those won't learn to code your website well!

    more visitor = more income.

I think it would be a silly move to ban FireFox users since it is the second largest browser in use behind IE.
