Dreamweaver 8.0: How to apply template with a correct link path?

    Hye all!

Can someone assist me how to apply a dreamweaver template with a correct path link? Ok my situation, i already do my own template then save it as template (*.dwt format) then i create a new page on Dreamweaver then i apply my template by:

Modify > Templates > Apply Template to Page

But i got a 'wrong' syntax/directory path link. For example like this image:

    *from my template

    *after i apply my template

After i apply template i got this background="file:///C|/Inetpub/wwwroot/ms3/v3/Templates/images/bg2.jpg" which it suppose to be background=images/bg2.jpg

Can someone tell me what should i look? So far as i concern on my define site configuration everything is good like before.

    Thanxs

I think you moved the file and it can't locate it, thus replacing it with something else?

Try uploading the image online and then point to it.

Nop. everything there. If we look on that code:

    background="file:///C|/Inetpub/wwwroot/ms3/v3/Templates/images/bg2.jpg"

I understand that's mean images folder must inside 'Templates' folder. But actually my images file is outside that 'Templates' folder. If we put that images folder inside, i know we still can grab that image. But my point is i dont want my script start with file:///C|/Inetpub/wwwroot/bla..bla..bla..

On my template i write my script with server scripting not client scripting. I dont know how to explain but what i mean is my code is calling image from first folder inside server not start with hard drive path huhuhuhu.. dont know how to explain. really wish someone can explain it. Thanxs for reply Sam Media Ltd

    Dreamweaver Template Problem UPDATE
I thought I would let people know that unfortunately the edit preferences option posted in the last thread did not work when creating a new page from a template you just created.

It did help with links being updated when moving pages, but it did not help with my specific problem as I thought.

I did some more research and went to the Adobe site and asked there, it seems that if you have v 8.0 and have not updated to 8.02 (free update located at Understanding the Template Updating option in Dreamweaver 8.0.1-8.0.2 ) when creating a new template your links will always be converted to local links like file:///C|/Program%20Files/Apache%20Group/Apache2/yourFolder/yourFile.html

However, I did the update and still, when creating a new document from an existing template, all my links get converted to ile:///C|/Program%20Files/Apache%20Group/Apache2/yourFolder/yourFile.html still! I have posted this issue on the Adobe DreamWeaver forum and will update this post if I find a solution!

If anyone has any questions feel free to contact me.

Ok now setel already!!! HUhuhuhuuh really wasting my time today for my works. What you have to do if you using Macromedia Dreamweaver 8.0, you have to update it which you can get it free from:

Adobe - Dreamweaver Support Center : Updaters

    Feel free to read this:
Understanding the Template Updating option in Dreamweaver 8.0.1-8.0.2

    Thanxs everyone.
