Organic SEO versus PPC Advertising Pros and Cons

The increasing importance of search engine marketing to online profitability has sparked debates in the industry on whether to use “natural” methods for SEO or opt for pay-per-click advertising. The ideal strategy would be one that incorporates both methods into the SEO scheme as they both have advantages and disadvantages to them. This is rarely the case though and for those that cannot quite decide on which course to take, the following is a rundown of the pros and cons of each method.

    Organic SEO

Organic SEO is deemed more credible by people as popularity and traffic are gained through painstaking work and time investment. Your search engine levels are acquired on the basis of relevance and content quality. As long as your website keeps in line with search engine considerations, it continues to belong to the top search results.

Consequently, the results yielded by organic SEO are more enduring. It doesn’t adhere to a pre-planned timeline rather it is an ongoing project that is amended and improved over time. It is a constant part of the marketing strategy. Organic SEO also incurs relatively low costs especially if you implement it yourself. You also have complete control over the content of your website. You decide which data to use and post without interference from third parties so the quality of your content isn’t compromised.

On the downside, organic SEO results are not immediate. It may take a while for your website to see any meaningful traffic and the time spent waiting for these strategies to take effect may impact heavily on it s profitability. SEO is a complicated undertaking and if you are a neophyte in this industry you might inadvertently be putting your website at risk.

    Pay-per-Click Advertising

The biggest draw of pay-per-click advertising is the near-instantaneous results. Traffic is driven immediately to your website as your link is prominently shown over the search engine. This attribute of pay-per-click advertising is especially attractive to websites that are starting out. Pay-per-click advertising is also easier and faster to implement because it is a fairly uncomplicated procedure.

A drawback is that pay-per-click advertising can be quite costly. Studies show that the rates for PPC advertising are rising and as more people visit your site, you pay more. There are also studies showing that people tend to distrust paid searches and are therefore less likely to click on these links compared to organic search results.

Organic SEO method involves complete optimization of the company’s Website and long term investment in building up towards top search engine results that will last a long time.

PPC is really costly, you could have spent all your money but the result you desire is not achieved.

I prefer organic although the result is long-term to be feel of at least I don't spend a large amount of money.

There are pros and cons in each method.

If you have the capital to invest in PPC, you can try it out. At least PPC gives you faster exposure.

PPC is only good in start up website.

It is much better to combine both PPC and SEO.

Once you have good ranking, you can stop the PPC.

80% of the traffic comes from Search Engines.

SEO and PPC each has their own benefits and usage. For me I think long term plan is more important, I will plan 80% budget for SEO and 20% budget for PPC. As there are different group of audiences are from PPC. However majority traffic no doubt is from organic search result.

Actually i do agree both of this have their own benefits and usage.
SEO - long term plan but it's time consuming.
PPC - faster explosure but costly(depends).
There are pros and cons within both of this. In my point of view, PPC is an effective way to company which is SMEs(small or medium enterprise). It's create a plenty of product/branding awareness through this method. Targeted your company niche audience along with your promotion campaign. Furthermore, PPC can get track the result (eg. how many visitor enter your website) by giving you analytic report in the end. You're not simply spending without "result". Again, PPC(pay per click) means that once people click the website only the moment you need to pay.
    Thanks.

    Seo

SEO or PPC, they are both good if you know how to do it systematically.
As long as they can bring you money, no harm doing both. Of course as mentioned by many of our friends above, PPC give fast results but if not done properly, will burn a big hole in your pocket. Organic ranking, will take times to rank at the top. But if keywords not competitive, it will be very fast.

Both Organic and PPC needed for a website to compete with your competitor. Organic works on Long Term while PPC will make things easier. Organic optimization will takes on few keywords but PPC can be done with many keywords. If you're serious in web business, then you can't ignore any of them.
