Working on your Internet business that is.
Are you doing it full time?
When did you first started doing and learning about Internet business?
Just wondering and this could be an interesting discussion.

ok, let me be the 1st person answering this question.
I start creating website for fun about 7 years ago (1998) when I'm work part time at cyber cafe. I never think that I can get any revenue from website without selling anything. After that, when I got married, I left the scene for almost 5 years
Then, on 2003, I start another website, still as a hobby. I develop it from my office during lunch hour and after working hour. Until friend of mine suggesting to me to put adsense ads to cover the hosting cost. I say, why not, my target is just $1 a day, to cover the hosting fees. But, that changed when I saw someone posting about his adsense earning on DP forum and no turning back for me after that. I keep working and optimizing my site to get more revenue because I know it is possible. But I never think that one day, I'll quit my job just to work fulltime on internet. When I'm still work full time, I'd spent at least 4 hours a day for the website and it is really tiring because I have to work at least 12 hours at the office. Job as internal auditor is not easy and when my adsense earning is more than my salary (3 times to be exact) I'd make a decision to quit my job on work fulltime on the website.
Now, I spend about 10 hours a day for the website and I'm really enjoy every moment of it
ishk2...
my office hours is from 9 - 6..
my working hours for internet business is from 9 - 6 also
(since i am new so there's a lot to explore)
my working hours for my job is erm....
ishk2.. why the * I don't have broadband at home..
I'll be fulltime next year ... still in the 3-month notice period. But as of now, I am seeing myself doing 3-4 hours a day. Weekends even more ... but most of the times maybe just slacking away at forums and surfing nonsense ... :P

i am targetting to be full time blogger next year also...
to be frank, I never thought to be a fulltime webmaster. Never cross my mind at all until one month before I send resignation notice.
I will soon fire my boss too.![]()
Just dragging with job, work for money.
lol good question, i graduated my degree and work as a programmer/webmaster for 1 year. In that 1 year time i've found true interest which is doing website and after half year working there i found this site, then i learned about blogs and adsense. After that everyday i work at company from 9 to 6. And when i go back home i keep learning, research and have fun blogging and playing around with adsense until late night 2 or 3am. So when complete 1 year working there i quit because i see the potential of increasing my online income. I still remember the moment i quit my adsense was around $30+/day only...i never regret leaving the company and do fulltime blogging cos i've put more time on it and in 1 month time i've manage to increase it by 200%. I hope i can reach my goal soon which is $100/day.
It must has been very courageous for you all to quit your day job.
I love my job, until the passion fades![]()

kahsoon,
You've one interesting blog, no wonder it's popular. I notice it gets over 7000+ visitors daily. I am sure you will reach the 100 mark!
Glad to know many people are going full time. Anyway as for myself, I started learning about Internet marketing and affiliate programs in 1997 when I was a poor student in University.
Of course everything was new right then and the media was just begun to show interest in stories about mom and pops jumping onto the Internet bandwagon and making nice income online.
Interested in the possibility of making money online, I started surfing, learning and finding the hidden treasure of the Internet.
My first commercial website was hosted on a free server in 1997 before I purchased my first domain name in 1998.
The rewards offered by affiliate programs before the bubble burst were generous. The value of a website property was measured by the eyeballs it attracts. CPM values were high, payperclick banner sometimes paid too much for its own good (of course I never thought that way that time).
Everything attracted clicks since everything was new to the Internet users. I think I made several hundreds dollars in my first few months and that was when I realised the potential of the Internet.
Anyhow, my first website is still very much online today at http://www.absolutelyfreebies.com. There were times when updates were done once in a blue moon. But now I am hiring a part time webmaster to update it.
Since that website, I've been trying to diversify my source of income using affiliate programs, Adsense, CPM banner, and have been creating my own products since 2002.
I usually spend more than 12 hours in front of the computer everyday but on average, only do 7 hours real working. I usually start at 11 am, sprinkle breaks here and there, and sleep way past the wee hours.
Deciding not to get a job since graduation was the best decision I made.

actually its not full time blogger that i realy want to be. i just want to sit at home and having time with ppl around while i dont need to worry about money and need to go to work. hmm.. i think i just need to relax.. well.. i'm just 21 years old kid anyway..
erm... and something else.. i am somehow satisfied with my salary now. a raise of $200 every 3 month will already be great. and i dont have to work at office at all (new working system at this company) my bos will give me a laptop and i just do my work at home. The bad part is,.. (is it bad?) i need to go to taiwan often for my job (dont worry, everything is free).
think again, my current job is fine and i still can get online profit. I'll have a lot of free time if i can work at home and can do blogging. kahsoon& LcF
is my role model actually.. huhu~
