    Hive.com.my <-- Malaysia's most lousy space provider

    as the topic we can see, i can confirmed and said that HIVE is the most lousy internet webspace provider in Malaysia !!!!
    why i say that ??
    that is a lot of reason to let me say the topic as loud as possible .
    First, DOWN 2 Times in one year ( SUPER Down one, Harddisk gone )
    harddisk gone mean data gone , the CHEAP server didnt provide backup one ..

    second, Albert Lai( hive's BOSS ) didnt do anything while the server down ..
    the SQL server always down. I heard that, the Albert Lai only ask for RESTART the server while the server down. He cant do anything.

    I am one of the victim from the situation, the server down last time ...
    let me lost most of the data. ( The SQL data gone... )

    i write this tread for let all the user know that they can go for better company. like XXSERVERONE , they also cheap but better quallity ..
    Dont go to hive again ..

    sorry to hear that. It's good thing to keep people posted which hosting is good/bad to save ppl from the same xperience.

    After the downtime, anyone submited a ticket to Hive and got a reply from them?

    I've submited a few tickets but didnt any reply from them.

    I've a feeling Hive is either very incompetent or very evil

    They are running through tmnet's eastgate service, giving them an advantage over most 'malaysian' hosts which have their servers in the US. That being said, if you aren't getting the service you require, do look elsewhere.

    hive only know to say "sorry" then again "sorry" and then..again "sorry"..all the time..should change their name to hive-sorry.net.

    all my database are gone..thanks to hive..my own backup?sure..so next time web hosting co's do not have any responsibilities to do it..just mirroring the corrupted hardisk before they knew it..

    HE really cant do anything with the server ..
    so lousy the service ..
    i post this tread for all the users can stay away from lousy service and irresponsible BOSS(Albert Lai)
    they also got an account in webmastermalaysia -- FILUREN NETWORK
    i dont think they dare to say anything here .. except SORRY

    I used them to register a domain before and the service was not bad. However when i checked their site a week ago it was down. As a web host myself, I think he could've done better and minimise the down time.

    And coming to this topic, I've got quite a number of people telling me how lousy malaysia hosts are. I somehow come to agree to some extent. I've seen some falling apart.

    I am a webhost myself and I recognise this trend among many Malaysians. They want to reap something out of nothing. They put in no effort yet want to earn alot of money. If you wan a fast way to earn hosting, u can sell cheap, oversell and have a bad server. And by doing so, you are TARNISHING the name of MALAYSIA WEB HOSTS.

    I appeal to ALL, please. When you conduct your business PLEASE be ethical and know that wat you sow is wat you reap. Do not wait for money to fall from heaven.

    i 've Experience the same thing too..
    last year(2005) between august or september..their server went down..something about hard disk falilure..for 3 weeks that's unacceptable !
    server down, yes.. but DUIT HOSTING JALAN,MACAM MANA NI !

    if you look at their web site..they offer 100% of UPTIME..that ridiculos...
    even top web hosting company inthe US offer not more than 99%.

    few weeks ago..i 'd ordered their hosting service, hoping that this year they'll get better..
    but, to my disappointment, their server went down AGAIN !
    i wrote a letter.. requesting a refund, they reply..

    i think they (hive) should REMOVE "UNMETERED BANDWITH" .
    that's their main problem..
    when there's 10 or more site that's high bandwith usage. (normally download site , mp3, bla bla.. )
    10 high bandwith site in a server gonna kill 100 other site in the same server.. When there is more high bandwith site inside.. the server Crash and kaput laa..
    so there's the matter and there's Never and Ever unlimited and unmetered bandwith..


    otherwise.. it will happen again and again..

    ..

    you can sell CHEAP, AFFORDABLE, (anything else nice word here).. but MUST SET A LIMIT on it..

    from my pengalaman 2 times dah website down for the first time semua data lost dan second time pon data lost plus account hilang. tapi buat camna marah pon tak guna kan salah kita juga backup takde

    I just saw this topic and let me share my personal experience with everyone so hive new customers will atleast learn and alert before pay for their Hive hosting.

    i have 1 account previously...all data lost for no reason given...summited to their support...the team said "i also have no idea"...asking few more question hope to seek explanation...and guess what? they give you a new login account (all datalost with the explanation from their support team "i have no idea") and closed the ticket...yes you got it right...all the question i asked was like talking to the wall...hive team support ignored you and dump you the new account...so i'm patient...i open a new ticket...they actually ignored you until today...it have been 2 months now (can you believe that?)

    so oh well what to do? i paid for a year hosting for 2 accounts with them and have to bear all the pain...and just lately (last month)...i have lost 2 accounts at hive due to their so called hardisk failure...yup...so which mean the first account that i have lost everything i built in a month have all GONE again....so summarized i have 2 times datalost on the first account ...and lost all resources for the second account.

    If you think you can count on their support or even hivedesk.com what so ever...dont expect it for rapid response...it could take them few weeks or they choose never to response you...acted like nothing happen.

    now my site have been down for more than 24 hours.. summited the problem..still no reply from hive support until now. Yes i have determine the problem is them and not with me.

    i just have few more months with them and bye bye...and goodbye for goods ...i will never recommend either going to buy domain/reseller/hosting what so ever.

    they should took down the 99% uptime guarantee ...it just 9% of uptime ...dont get fool with their promising at their site...its not truth

    I know why a lot of webhosts run Unmetered Bandwidth - it's because they are involved in entrapment.
