Sending email with long text not possible with Streamyx

    Hi,
After shaking my laptop several times and calling Streamyx hotline even more times, I post this thread and hope someone has an idea.

I installed Streamyx two weeks ago, Internet works fine and downloading the emails is ok. But sending the emails (from my streamyx account) is impossible if the text gets lenghty (more than 500 characters) or attachments are enclosed. Short text emails can be sent.

Anybody and idea how to solve? Streamyx hotline told me to shake laptop just 101 time more then okey-lah.

    TQ for any reply.

They really told you that ?

Well, my opinion is, don't use the streamyx email, use Gmail. If you need the address : xxx@streamyx.com , do a redirection to gmail inbox and add the account in your gmail so that you can send email thru gmail under the address of xxx@streamyx.com. That should solve it.

Even Gmail or also Webmail accounts from my Homepage here in Malaysia and one in Europe doesn't allow to send emails - blocked. From Streamyx short Emails are ok, but again, more than 500 char and the sending results in an error.

Maybe I have to shake Streamyx and not my Laptop.

I haven't tried with other computers so far. But my computer works fine in the office. I can send email, surf Internet, whatever through company server. But at home with Streamyx I can surf Internet okey-lah, send emails with little text, but that's it.
Large text emails and attachments doesn't work. And sending through webmail is not allowed; error message 'bad request'.

Any more ideas from out there? Appreciate it! TQ!

I have no problem writing an awfully long email ( certainly more than 1000 chars/words) using Gmail, or Thunderbird.

Maybe - but it is working in the office!
And why can I not use the webmail? -> Bad request.

Somewhere I've read to change my MTU (maximum transmission unit) rate - this may allow to send larger emails and including attachments. How I change the MTU on my laptop? And is this the solution?

    TQ for any reply.

Change MTU and everybody is in Streamyx heaven

Ok, after surfing the net I found the solution.

Change your MTU (maximum transmission units) to 1400 and all works well and your in streamyx heaven.

How to do: download tool from broadband help DrTCP by Broadbandreports.com
Typ in your MTU rate = 1400 and your Network and restart.

DONE and you can send any email size and upload any document.

For all out there having the same problems! Try it and your happy with Streamyx.

    See ya
