Another Bad Idea from The Ministry

Just read this over the star papers today.
the ministry is looking into charging drivers a fees to drivers whom entering city areas during peak hours. Not sure how they gonna implement this but i think they will insert a device on your car for tracking or somesort of means to it. They are going to implement a car pool driving lane?? Isn't that there too much special lane already for taxi & bus, motorcycles and now car pool?? i think in the future there will be a for a disabled lane also....

Although its just a ideas and need further research before implementation, what do you think of this?

If this it to make money, they can make much more by fining all those who break the law when driving and parking. Let's start with RM100 for changing lane or turning off without indicating, and RM100 for parking anywhere but an authorised parking space...

i just try to view from another view.

    - Jammed in KL is soooooo hard to solve. There's no easy way to solve it. You said, the public transport is poor, but i see today, there's sooo many rapid KL bus. But the common citizen's reason dont want to use public transport is = Public transport is not on time!.

So.. how am i to make sure public transport being on time since we already knew jam in KL will also effect public transport? right?

    - The jammed in kl most produced by tooooo many private car. Even worst, from 100 car on the road, 90 car's only used by 1 person.. hardly to see full passenger in the car.

So.. if i were the gov. I will make peoples avoid to use their car!. maybe parking fees increment, toll increment, etc etc..

In theory, If people's think it really costing them, they 'terpaksa' use the public transport.

If you can't agree with me.. tell me, WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO REDUCE THE TRAFFIC JAM and the car in KL.

well.. first this policies main aim is to reduce the numbers traffic in town areas and not solely for making any profits out of it. Although some genius might take advantages of it by then.

This policies have been implemented in some others country but i feel that its not ready yet for our country.

Why its not ready, simple our public system stilll have the following problems:-
    1. Buses System. Bus late, frequency too low, but worse thing is you need to follow where the bus go (round a big areas that take hours to reach destination, if you just walk it might take only 30minutes?). How i wish the old system of "Toong Fong" buses still exist.

    2. LRT system. Another hassle case as been operated by different system and not fully integrated. Many area is not yet covered by and its feeder buses are late and very packed during rush hour.
There's none/not enough parking bay at stations that encourages driver to leave their car and take lrt system instead.

    3. Taxi. Charges to high and if too many taxis into town, same problem exist also.

If we have an lrt systems like singapore / taiwan / japan... i guess then we are ready for it.

The last thing i hate to see is a "TOL" in the middle of the city ... I think "Malaysia Boleh" and they do boleh do anything with a snap of fingers...

read again : How we can make sure bus not late since KL already jammed?
and.. if you say it's bus had a long reach destination way to come back.. but if short distance way, that's mean we need to take 3,4,5 bus to reach long distance place/way?

the matter is.. how selfish we're ..
i'll vote for sharing car and public transport.. even bad and hard.. but at least.. for 10 years later we maybe can had A BETTER AND NOT SO HOT and maybe we can reduce (global heat up) process..

the main problem is.. how many of us can put our ego down to use a public transport.
because inside our deep heart, you knew, how we said.. public transport is for POOR, unclass people, no money people only.. right?

it is the public who are reluctant to put down their ego to use the public transport.
why need to wait, change terminal, walk miles away when you have your own car.... this is still the mindset of malaysians
city is developing and more and more people get their own car thus more and more of this vehicles will enter the city.
if no drastic countermeasure is taken, KL will one hell of a traffic nightmare city in the near future.

yesss.. at least someone agree with me. :P

it's the public, the common bashers citizen. Those think everything is wrong, beside think it in deeply.

our mindset already told : If I used public trasport, my kawan, ahso, officemate bla bla somemore will ask me " Do you so poor?". Even worse, they will think that you bancrupt!..

How many of use dare to use public transport? instead of 'just saying that the public transport is suck' (but never once try it?)

"No.. no.. i wont use public transport.. because if I use it everyday, peoples will think I'm poor and had no money.. nooooo.. i can accept it!.." SEEE?

the another common gaved reason :
    - Aiyaa, so hot outside. (yesss it will coming more hot afterward since CO2 from your car will kill ozone later)
    - What? public transport aa? No.. I will late then.
    - Walkaway? nooo.. unsafe..
    - (and many more reason made later)

It's not the govt, it's about our MINDSET.

i guess that the way human have been brought up for the last few decades... even mindset play a role, proper planning from the public transports authority is indeed needed. To really solve this major issue, cooperation between the two is required.

lets take a look to our closed neigbour, singapore for instance, cars is really meant for the rich... as for the not so rich... they are not considered poor and they rather use public transport coz its been well layout. One of my biz partner in sg. told me that he rather take the train than drive to office / meeting as it cost lesser and their public transport are reliable and predictable (in time).

eemmm... not to offend anyone here... but i just couldn't stop myself to say this "walk your talk", just find one fine day and try taking buses to office in the rush hour time....

for me.. i guess i'm blessed coz i got an understanding boz that allow me to be in the office before 10 and leave at 7 so that i can skip part of the jam and i appreciate that alot. For those whom really have a flexible time/work at home... you are blessed and enjoy it please.

ahh.... here's come another crazy idea.. maybe this could work for while if the gov. enforce all company in the city center to have a flexible working start time like... 7am, 8am, 9am, 10am.. then we can reduce quarter of congestions... just an idea though

ok i'm freelancer.. Im askng you..
Do you like to wake-up at 5.30am(omg! it's really early morning!) .. and breakfast at 6?
because your office time start at 7.00 am?

and our normal mindset also.. if our office time start at 8. We will out from house only at 7.30 .. if our office time start at 9.00 am, we surely will out from house at 8.30 . (even worse.. if your house nearby the office.. OF COURSE! I'M OUT AT 8.45! )

so.. how come we declare all busses late since we only reserved our 'going to office time' just 30 - 15minutes?

well, most people still stuck with this mindset simply because They Can ! They could still afford to drive themself to work as the cost to drive is not very much higher than taking public transport. And most of all, it save TIME and TIME IS MONEY !

My brother used to work in Japan. He has 2 bicycle there. Well,
every morning, he cycle about 2km from home to a transit station to take a train to another station. There he has another bicycle parked there and he cycle another couple of kilometer to his work place.
I bet none of our malaysian willing to live like that yet, that is what the richest yet hi-tech country of the world is doing.
there are even ppl in this country duno how to ride a bicycle

public transportation can be sickening at times

ok,im a public transport user and i guess i have something to share with everyone.im working in PJ and im staying in setapak,kl.i wish i hv a car which i can drive to work so tht i dun hv to punch other ppl's face(a bit exxagerating.hihi..) to get into the lrt or the bus!

lemme tell u guys how's the flow of my 'Journey to the office'.
    1. i leave the house at 7.30 in the morning to take the lrt from wangsa maju.
    2. now, normally(not during peak hours) ppl will juz take the lrt which heads
    straight to kelana jaya,rite?
    3. sadly,i will hv to take the lrt from the other side(which is heading to
    terminal gombak).
    4. this is to avoid being crashed into the lrt by a crowd of ppl pushing ur ass
to make their way into the lrt.
    5. so thr,i wasted 10 min.however, IF u r not lucky,the lrt will b
emptied at terminal gombak and all passengers will b requested to leave
the train so tht the empty train can accommodate all the monsters in
    wangsa maju!). more time wasted!
    6. every train will be packed like a sardin can,no kidding.somehow,a bunch of
inconsiderate ppl will still push their way into the train even thou the
people inside the train has already been like-sticking their face to the
    door!(how barbaric!)

so tht's d problem!those inconsiderate people juz cause more problem when the lrt door is trying to close.by the 4th time the lrt cant close the door, the train will b stuck thr.another few minutes wasted!

this actually applies to the bus too.to help solve the problem, frequency of the lrt and also the buses needs to be re-planned properly.well, tht's from my point of view!u gotta do something if u wan the encourage-citizens-to-use-public-transportation campaign to go well!

    'malaysia boleh!',u think so?

    lol...

ccool... i deeply understand the situation you been going through daily. 5 years back before i got my own car... i also doing the same thing every morning.

Last time i was doing the below:
    1. walk bout 30min - 45min to star lrt station at salak selatan
    2. my station was not the first nor somewhere near the end.. so have be a sardin every morning
    3. take star lrt until chan saw lin station, go out to other platform and wait for another train to come ... take the next train on the next lane.
    4. arrive at masjid jamek, go out and take putra lrt to asia jaya
    5. arrive at asia jaya, go out and take feeder bus and be sardin again sometime... but usually www.
    6. arrive at office.. half dead lioa... some smell like sardin sometime when the feeder bus out off aircon... extra cost incurred when i need to buy a standby parfume in the office.

at least you are lucky don't have to change lrt system...

i really appreciate my car coz it bring me much conviniences...
