    Joomla CMS Dicussion

    Hi all,
i have a question on user register on my joomla site
after i register my self at my joomla site,
it show my registration complete, and show
"Your account has been created and activation link has been sent to the e-mail address you entered. Note that you must activate the account by clicking on the activation link when you get the e-mail before you can login. "
but with the email i key in, i never receive any email from my site, or any activation link..
why ahr? did i still need to do setting in my administration page?

Is there any posibilities that it goes to your 'junk mail'?

I have not really use Joomla. But to test this, I simply install one using Fantastico on a subdomain. The email activation works fine for me.

you MUST check either your server support php mail(); function or not.
maybe the mail function is OFF, or only SMTP mail server's open .

if your server mail(); is off.. your click activation request in thousands of time wont help.

I'm preety sure your mail(); function is off, since it hosted at FREE HOSTING. Don't blame the free hosting, because they want to protect their server before becoming source of spam email.

in that case you should try to contact the web host provider if they allow php mail() function in the server. my free hosting provider does allow mail() function.
you may also create a php file to test the mail() function to confirm if it is running fine

cheap hosting give you cheap service lor. if anything wrong with the server and require an admin to attend the problem, dun hope it will always happen immediately lor. but so far its downtime is even better than my paid hosting. sigh...

I think they're using plesk. it ain't like cpanel or directadmin. pretty basic. not much that you could do with their control panel. its just sufficient for you to set up a website with ftp and phpmyadmin. what do you expect from USD3 and you can host you domain with it?
