    Outsourcing. Is Malaysia ready?

    Hello,

I am Director of a European IT SME. We founded our company in 1996 and we've weathered the IT bust with flying colors. In fact, we're currently stronger and larger than before.

Two years ago we visited this website in order to explore our outsourcing options, since we were in the process of opening a branch in Singapore.

Now, whereas this branch has since been incorporated succesfully, our experiences with Malaysia as an outsourcing hub was at that time not so succesfull. I did make several visits to KL, met some friendly IT enthusiasts, but unfortunately nothing concrete evolved from there. I concluded that we were too early for Malaysia.

As a result, our company diverted to Indian parties, who have since played an important role in the growth of our company in Asia.

However, we've since realised that the Malaysian IT environment has matured immmensely. And since I am based in Singapore now, I'd like to re-explore outsourcing our projects to Malaysian programmers. After all, we're neighboring countries, easy to meet up should the need arise.

If you're interested, by all means post a quick message, so we can exchange details and move from there.

    Kind regards,

    Bryan

It depends on what you're trying to outsource I guess. The main problem is the command of English and relatively higher cost. While I was with Keppel Communications in Sgp doing IT product development, we outsourced our programming to India too. Drop me a line if you need anything.

I know this is 4 years too late, but I'll just try my luck. My name is Mathew, and I'm with a company that has been doing software/systems development in KL for 7 years now. We would love to look into any IT-related projects you might want to outsource out.
I hope this reply gets to you in good health.
