Unhappy Windows XP ... Sharing File

    Hai...

    Thanks. Bye...

    see attachment first..
as usual we right clicking on the folder right?

see the LINK to help & Support / HELP
    i found this
    To make your folders private
    Open My Computer.
Double-click the drive where Windows is installed (usually drive (C, unless you have more than one drive on your computer).
If the contents of the drive are hidden, under System Tasks, click Show the contents of this drive.

Double-click the Documents and Settings folder.
    Double-click your user folder.
Right-click any folder in your user profile, and then click Properties.
On the Sharing tab, select the Make this folder private so that only I have access to it check box.
    Notes

To open My Computer, double-click the My Computer icon on the desktop.
This option is only available for folders included in your user profile. Folders in your user profile include My Documents and its subfolders, Desktop, Start Menu, Cookies, and Favorites. If you do not make these folders private, they are available to everyone who uses your computer.
When you make a folder private, all of its subfolders are private as well. For example, when you make My Documents private, you also make My Music and My Pictures private. When you share a folder, you also share all of its subfolders unless you make them private.
You cannot make your folders private if your drive is not formatted as NTFS. For information about converting your drive to NTFS, click Related Topics.

Sebenarnya ada option tu kat winxp cuma di hidden kan. Kalau dah familiar dengan Win98, on kan option tu kat

Windows Explorer --> Tools --> Folder Options --> Pilih tab View --> kat bahagian Advance Setting scroll ke paling bawah, then untick Use Simple File Sharing (Recommended)

Then, kat folder yang kita nak share tu, right click --> sharing and security --> share this folder --> Share name tu letak ler apa apa pun nama folder --> kalau nak limit bandwith, letak berapa orang yang boleh akses pada satu-satu masa kat <Allow this number of user> otherwise biar jer kat Maximum Allowed --> Click kat Permission button --> Remove Group Everyone --> Add --> Pilih komputer kawan korang yang bagi access jer.

    Nie je yang aku tahu....

Actually it will be better if it is Win XP -> Win XP, or Win XP -> Win ME in a workgroup, kalau Win XP -> Win 98 leceh nak setup, sakit kepala adalah

You might need to use advance file sharing. You can check folder option. Uncheck one of the field over there. Something like "Simple File Sharing". After uncheck, I think, you can set password or permission.

Using linux at the moment. Don't actually get to see it at the moment.

lagi satu aku nak tanya psl networking kat WIndows XP ni.

Kat ofis aku..kitorang pakai database..guna lotus approach/....tp bila pc yg jadi server tu guna windows XP...user yg boleh share cuma limted to 15 orang sahaja...kitorang ada gak cari2 kat mana nak setting user limit tu..tp tak jumpa..so bos aku pakai windows 98 sekarang.

jadi soalan aku ialah camana nak setting kan berapa user kat windows XP tu.

Lagi satu...kenapa bila aku nak install windows 98...dah guna startup disk..tak leh nak install...kiranye aku nak format drive c: tp dia kata invalid command..tp dalam manual instruction dia suruh type c: pastu fdisk dan sebagainye...tp tak jalan pun

nak kena buat partition dulu ke psl skrg pc tu guna XP.
