Firstly, how many visitors were you actually getting before changing the theme? If it was only a small number, then the theme change may be a minor short term concern, and your traffic may pick up again.

Have you checked if the new theme causes problems with validation, or with compatibility with the various web browsers? Did you make any changes to the navigation structure of your site? Does the new theme use some method other than HTML for navigation (flash, Java, etc), which the search engines may not be able to parse?

Has the new theme changed the keyword targeting for the site (eg. the title tag keywords, the H1 tag keywords, etc)? If so, then the search engines may match your pages up with different search queries - which will mean that you will have lost the existing page rankings for the old keyword terms your pages were optimized for.

If there's nothing about the new theme that prevents search engines and visitors from navigating the site, or which has changed the site's keyword targeting, then I'd just consider it a short term fluctuation, and concentrate on building content and relevant backlinks.

I have changed Wordpress theme before, using one of those online ones that are available, and it didn't affect my traffic at all. I cannot see how a change of theme can affect your traffic because Google matches its search with the contents of your website and not your theme.

Are you saying that your AWStats statistics shows that Google does not crawl your site anymore. If so, this could be due to other reasons and not your theme.

By the way, just a personal opinion on your new theme. I like the theme, which is cool in color and neat, except for 2 things:
    • I don't like the topmost black bar because it makes your website appear to be hanging.
    • Your website exceeds my monitor screen. I am using 1024x768 resolution on LCD 19" screen.
