    Save Picture As...

How come on some webpages, sometimes when we save a picture, the filename is defaulted to "untitled" and the type is defaulted to "Bitmap (*.bmp)" ???

For example, try saving some pictures on this website http://www.eyewire.com. Is the filename defaulted to "untitled" ?
I am not sure if this happens only on my PC... tomorrow I will try on another PC and see...

    Thanks.

thats happen when browser couldnt find any information about the image. well ... right click the image ... and select preperties .. the file type is "Not Available" means no information about what the file type is ... so the browser just use the default one .. .bmp for windows i beleive

i dont know why ... maybe there is something else get involved .. like the image parsed by some server side scripting ?? i dont know ... just a guess.
I can't affod to have a signature here, can somebody sponsor me a signature ?

    malayneum, thanks.

Yupe, what u said is correct. But just now I tried accessing www.eyewire.com from another PC, this time the filename in the Save Picture dialog box is as expected - in JPEG format. Why??

    Haha... funny huh....

    Possibilities...

The browser (as Malayneum had mentioned earlier), the image itself (well, this must be the work of the one-who-must-not-be-name-who-create-the-image), and maybe... ur OS..sometimes it can get a little wacky u know...

ps/ What we do in life, echoes for eternity....

Ya, there is not a problem at all... i ask this merely out of curiosity. Anyway, there is so much unexplan-able things in life, isn't it....
