Western Union - How Does It Work?

Has anyone tried Western Union; like sending or receiving money from or to another country? If I send money to another country in USD for example, will they receive the money in the currency I sent or will Western Union give them the money in local currency?

    Thanks in advance.

In Malaysia, we received it in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) .
    It's local currency.
So, I believe it's the same in other country...

WU apply some charges when you send money to the receiver.

The rate are constantly change from time to time, but according to the banker, the rate btw asia are cheap, but europe country is much expensive.

some time using TT is better rate then WU

    Telegraphic transfer..
method of payment that really cause
    high-risk for the importer..
    no guarantee at all..

    When firstly I'm sending money
    to Indonesia using maybank..
I really thought money gram much safer..

I have to agree that TT the quickest
    payment transfer from international transactions..
it could be major alternative payment for buyer
like myself in arrange customer satisfaction..

What I really mean is diffrent prepayment if
    interest rates been fallen..
for example I'm paying someone in getting advance
    before receiving goods and services.
I could pay cash, TT transfer, WU or money gram..
as a fact, there will be a processing fee and other
charges imposed when using TT depending on the currency,
country and the agent bank used.

there are also another type of payment, is some thing call "bank gurantee"

bank will hold the money, when buyer receive the stock in good condition, buyer will ask bank to release payment to seller. the fees is kinda high, worth for big transaction...

last time when i 18, i buy some stock from a KL seller, less then RM500, but i asking for this service... kinda stupid...
