Thread: Proton Persona VS Perodua MyVi

Hi guys,

I am considering getting one of the cars below:-

• Proton Persona
• Perodua MyVi

Any opinions or suggestions on which one should I go for?
I am currently using a Proton Wira.

It will be perfect if there is some reviews and comparisons of both cars in multi aspects, like:-

• Fuel Efficiency
• Reliability
• Stability
• Others

Savvy? From what I heard Savvy is a pain in the arse..
What about in between Persona and MyVi?

but if you're family man.. buy myvi.

btw.. savvy resale value (2nd hand) is considered high.

of course!.. if you want better.. buy merz benz like Trengganu EXCO.

So which do you think is better in terms of quality and reliability?
Does Persona inherit those power window, glove compartment, bumper, etc problems?

for me, i will think twice from getting persona,
myvi are also practical..

When I was thinking of buying a car last year, I thought the UK motoring press were extremely critical of the Persona, and very complimentary to the Myvi. If you want to find UK reviews of the Persona, you'll have to find out what it's called there. They don't call it the Persona any more, it came to the UK at the same time as a very well-known birth control device was first marketed:

I'm a big fan of hatchbacks, great for loading and carrying larger items and easy to reverse park. I always thought the 2-doors (or is it 3?) handled much better than the 4(5) door models, but friends always complained about getting into and out of the back in the 2-door models.

any cars are suitable.. not even 2-3 doors,
yeah.. myvi just average..

So, if you're buying a new or used car
think energy efficiency !

Quality wise, should be perodua, but i guess the proton price is cheaper right?

For me, I rather pay more a bit, buy toyota or honda.
You can consider toyota avanza.

a friend of mine, he drive avanza, his wife drive kelisa, they try to change car use for 1 month, according to my friend, the fuel that consume are the same. not much different

don't buy toyota avanza and myvi if you're 'driver' type of person.
why?
because if youre the one those almost speeding, aggresive overtake, taking corners fast, or always wanna go fast there and then.... both car can make you absolutely in dangerous situation.

avanza is under powered car (except 1.5 one)
myvi 1.0 also underpower car, even 1.3 too.. just not enough in : weight vs power ratio. somemore, they are 'high' riding, your corner handling going bad.

viva is ugly and overpriced.. it's not really efficient Fuel consumption. Please bear in mind, remember how you used to drive 660 or 850 kancil to overtake a lorry in highway at 90kmh.. or to overtake a bus in normal road..

Proton nowadays is not as bad as ISWARA era.. Iswara not only bad, but worse and s*ckest car ever (but it really cheap before) .Proton going better now..Persona build quality is better than overpriced viva. Or waja CPS engine as powerfull or near by honda vtec. Vios is good in resale value but the ride and comfort not as good as waja (tested).

Somehow.. the choice is yours.
If you're familyman or had many children or stuff to carry to anywhere.. buy myvi or avanza.

Keep watching benz prices and fuel prices. In the UK you can buy a reasonable condition used Jaguar (not sure about Merc) for RM2000 - lots of my friends have owned old Jaguars in the past, luxurious, but filling up doubles the value of the car! They nearly always sell them after a year or so, too expensive to drive / maintain.

So can the NGV tank squeeze into MyVi's boot?
