im not using its but i heard my friend who is web designer said that he recently switched over to Wordpress as his main CMS bcoz he liked the clean styling and versatility of it. Here r some other great features of Wordpress that I thnk r worth mentioning:

-Support, Support, Support…there r tons of ppl out there using this...

-Flexibility to update themes n global CSS changes

-Post by email feature - ver convenient

    -Tons of plug-ins - Polls, Counters, Analytics…

Actually if you wan to talk about CMS, I guess joomla play a good role, it is powerful CMS, but a bit complicated...

Wordpress will be more easy to use... I use it for my self. I purpose do my client too when they look for CMS

for me, wordpress is not really a cms. wordpress is a blogging system that people use to make as their website/blog.

mambo, phpnuke, joomla can be described as cms.

btw all my websites are using wordpress system.

I thnk I won’t compare wordPress to joomla since they r built for two different purposes, and each have their own specialties... In my humble opinion, of course WordPress still can’t take on Joomla as a CMS, and neither can Joomla take on WordPress as a blog engine (even though we can essentially build blogs with Joomla too).

    asking all here..
    HAVE YOU ALL TRY BOTH?

yes i am.. and im still standing on my POV...
installing joomla is a BIG mistake and nightmare of mine. Not friendly at all.

Just looking around drupal now.. seems better..
but all the time, wp is the best.. clean coding, SEO wise, JUST PLUG what you only need. No need to upload unused module.. to many good thing to list.

Is it that good? Yess.. many WP had 1st page in search engine reseult.. but not joomla and other.. Very rare to see.. (oh dont type joomla as keyword lah!)

CMS is content mangt system lo...it is a system to manage ur web content..

WordPresss is the example of CMS also since it use Php platform and mySQL database..if not mistaken, the new release version is 2.3.1..It must have the features like web-based publishing, format management, control, indexing, search, and retrieval.

Other famous CMS are Joomla, Mambo, Drupal, Fedora(Java Platform) and so on...

wah.. like that wan.. then all my ecommerce site/blog directory/membership site software that i wrote also can be called CMS lar.... since they all manage web content via online databases for storage and retrieval later..... which i think it wouldn't be fit called as CMS in the case....

CMS play a much larger role online content management... see wikipedia for more definition ---> Content management system - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

agreed with u bro... there should be proper separation on the type of CMS...
Therefore title of of this thread should say "Wordpress the best Blog CMS" instead of the "Best CMS"..

if we talk bout CMS...it really encompass a whole lot more issue on technical and non technical. The whole CMS, it can also cross over between web based and non web based software and even integrated into different systems too.

Hmmm...anyway its no cure now... as everyone now thinks CMS just for Blog, web portal, web contents, web this lar.. web tat lar.....
