Is it alright to send reminder to subscriber who don't confirm their subscription

    Hi all

I would like to seek your advice whether is it alright to send reminder email to your subscribers who have yet to confirm their subscription to your site?

    Thanks for your view.

What sort of site? Is this like someone subscribe to a forum and they get a verification email but haven't verified the subscribtion? So you want to remind them to do so if they are still interested? If so, I don't think there is any harm, as long as you are not spamming them or something like that.

    Hi Mylinear

    Thanks for your opinion.

It is a squeeze page to collect lead. I have collected 70 subscribers but out of the total only 33 confirmed their subscription by clicking the verification link.

Any suggestion to improve the no of confirmed subscribers?

Your squeeze page is a Ewen Chia affiliate program.

You did not mentioned what 'bonus/report' you're giving away. This may discourage readers from opting to your list.
Tell them about the report and give them a reason how this report can help them.

Thanks boktai for your suggestion. In fact, I have more than one squeeze page and the one that you mentioned is one of them.

I am thinking those who don't confirm their subscription might not be really interested to join my list.

    Chances are:

    - Your confirmation email went to SPAM.
    - Your subscriber changed their mind - not interested.

But in any case, I thought it's reasonable to send a reminder for their confirmation.

I believe you should send reminder email to your subscribers.

Just like what limcs say, your confirmation email may gone to your subscribers's spam folder.

So, my advise for you is
    - setup a confirmation webpage like confirmation.html
    - then direct your subscribers to the webpage once they optin
    - In that webpage, state out step-by-step how to confirm the subscription including remind them to check their spam folder as well

It's simple and easy way to increase your confirmation rate.
I learn this method from ewen chia. I believe you may have seen this method if you're one of his subscribers.

But most important, your bait MUST be very attractive. Or else, your subscriber won't take the extra effort to confirm their subscription.

    hope this help!

More tips - You can include all the benefits of your bait in the reminder email to increase the chance of confirmation rate.

A reminder doesn't cost you anything, so why not? If they're not interested they'll unsubsribe altogether.
