What is the differences between PayPal and 2CO?

    Hi there,

What is the differences between PayPal and 2CO? Which one is better?

I had went thru both website and I found out that PayPal is cheaper - no registration fees and just 1.9-2.9% commission + RM0.30 compare to 2CO! Any comment on these?

If I register for PayPal, and I create a bank account in Singapore, ask PayPal to cash out to Singapore acc, does this works? Anyone use this method before?

    Please advice, thank you.

    Hi,
I'm a newbie too. Extending your question.
Can we normal Malaysians (no biz, no citizenship, no relatives in Spore) open up a bank account in Spore? If Yes, is it easy?
Any banks you can suggest who allows internet and online biz and accept Paypal, Clickbank, Adsense checks etc?

We Malysians seems to miss a lot of opportunities since Malaysia is not in the 'popular' list of countries

starsearcher, the website you gave is not only concerning paypal, but also condemning paypal!! Anyway, thank you for your website, at least i know paypal style now.

If don't use paypal, which other payment processor can we use? I had come to a lot of this kind of stuff in the forum, but which one is the best? The most secure?

Seem like paypal is the most popular and cheaper(if i am not wrong), so everyone will chose this one. It is a brand like nike for sport and intel for computer. Paypal for online payment!!

Btw, starsearcher, what services you chose for your online payment processor?

hi, well, the reason i give that website does not intend to condemn anyone. I'm just giving example. Of course, using any service, there will be people saying that it's good and some people will say that it's not good. It's the norm. Cannot really say which one is the best. Beauty is in the eye's of beholder.

anyway, we are using paypal and worldpay.

If you can open a singapore account, good for you, just register a paypal singapore account, a debit / credit card. It's faster to get your money using paypal.

If you don't have that, 2checkout is ok, but you'll get your money arround 50 days , tolak hari cash in kan kat bank m'sia.

You can be save using paypal using a few easy tips.

    1. upgrade to business / premier
    2. don't receive high volume from non verified member
    3. save only a few on paypal account (cepat2 cashkan duit). Kalau transaction besar , simpan < 1000 USD. Kalau tak < 100 USD

2 checkout is good because you can receive credit card payment on your website.
Still, if you have money, just find a local payment gateway e.g commercepayment, nbepay or ghl ( google it).

    Nice tips r0kawa.
Registering a paypal singapore account is the tricky part.
You will need a Singapore mailing address as well as a Singapore IP address when creating your paypal account.
I received a tip that Paypal does check the IP address of the party who intends to open an account.

thanks for your advice rOkawa, 2checkout is too expensive to me coz we need to pay $49 for registration fee.

I thought we also can pay credit card with paypal right? And what is the problem in PayPal that you advice us to cash out cepat-cepat! Expensive upgrade to business/premier plan?

Please advice r0kawa, confuse a bit, thanks.

Withdrawing your paypal money to the bank reduces your risk in case your account gets suspended. Many horror stories about paypal account being freezed with x,xxx dollars in it.
So, generally, webmasters cepat2 withdraw and keep as little as possible in Paypal as a contingency.

Accepting credit card for paypal is only available for US merchant. So to others, just wait for it to open up, and I think will take years to come.

If you use PayPal and want to cash out, wether use US bank account or singapore. Others than that you can try to sell to other who want it *hint* EzyPay.com.my * .

Upgrade to business / premium is not cost you a thing, but you'll be charge 3.4% + 0.30 / transaction if your transaction is lower than 3k USD/ month .

Heh, sound like PayPal representative or not

    2co and paypal

from my experience... kalo payment kecik2...guna paypal je la senang...

kalo nak cashkan, jual kat sape2 yg nak beli.. or guna untuk expand business... sebabnya... x de byk masalah& less risk.. boleh dibelanjakan segera.

kalo 2co (2checkout.com) ni.. kena tunggu cycle dia satu, kena tunggu reserve held dia satu.. kena tunggu kalo x wat masalh lagi satu... kalo first time dpt bayaran lebey USD 300 (ke USD 400) kena tunggu lagi satu... tiba2 kalo ader org order 15hb(kat hujung2 cycle) and diorang x sempat nak wat fraud review.. x pasal2 payment kena pospon...

yg besnya, dia antar cek, boleh caskan kat bank (walopun lame).. yg x besnya kalo dia wat hal.. my advice, sabar la byk2... and kalo ada masalah tu, slowly (really slowly setelkan ngan diorang.. god willing, you will not lose your money)

    mcm2..

btw, I use both.. and I dont really enjoy the experience.. but I have no choice..

USD 49, is not that expensive act. Just a suggestion. Go to Ebay Malaysia & Lelong.. sell something, get some profits, raise the capital before you start a website. (I assume you want to sell physical products) That's what I do. That's why I said USD 49 is inexpensive.

If you can't sell something at Ebay or Lelong... hmmm, hmm.. bukan nak discourage... but you have to work hard to make sure your website convert. (can make sale)

We can accept credit card using Paypal even if we are not a US merchant. We will just have problems converting the Paypal funds into cash..

    Good Luck!

For me the diff is their shopping cart system.
You can add image and sell tangilbe product in 2co.
For me 2co is more user friendly. The problem is how you can receive payment in Malaysia.
Now there are many payment system outside there. For example, now egold is the hot payment system. Friendly, i know there are many Malaysian egold account holder. Why you not try to using this payment system. For me, Malaysian is scared using their credit card for buying something. The new payment system you can use such as uniclear, stormpay, emoe.

    Hope this answer your question.

The other thing which you might want to take note is, both 2CO and PayPal don't allow you to bill your client in MYR (Ringgit Malaysia), you can only bill your client in USD or other currency supported.

If you wish to bill your client in MYR, you can go with WorldPay or a local bank Internet Merchant account.
