    Stealing products & 2CO

    Hello all,

    I've found out that there's a loophole in 2CO
payment system which can allow anyone to
steal your digital products. Does anyone of
you have solutions for this? I'm selling ebooks
using 2Checkout and stumbled across this
security feature when I was playing with the
    websites.

If anyone has a good workaround, please help.

    thanks,

2co offer test payment scripts with &demo=Y behind the payment URL. This will not charge your credit card as it will be taken as demo or test page. If you order digital products from site accepting 2co, just add &demo=Y when behind the payment url and you will be diverted to download site after completing the form.

Don't worry, technology are changing, we are now having new technology to totally change the url view by user to a special code where buyer unable to add anything behind.

We have done it to many of our clients who sell digital products and it is sucessful.

    Thanks for sharing!

Wow, I never discover this loophole. Lucky, I don't sell digital products.. but I'm afraid, are there anymore loophole? We should make a thread on this alone.

Hmm... btw, how do you find 2checkout.com so far? Are there any other alternative?

-we have an okay experience with 2co, but recently some african made a fraud transaction at our site (huge amount). Although cancelled&refunded, but 2co still count it as a sale. And they charged us their fees!

Thus, we have a negative balance. Took more than 10 emails to solve (very lucky) some other online marketer said never hope to recover the money from them.

But,still, the experience is scary. Watch out everybody, never put your eggs in one basket

to be frank no payment gateway is perfect. If you ask my opinion 2checkout is still the best if compare to paypal or worldpay. signup fee is low for 2checkout and no monthly charges compare to worldpay that have to pay monthly charges. Paypal always protect buyer more than seller. I'm currently using 2checkout and paypal to receive payment.

    firstonline,

Are you saying that you decode the link to
the 2CO page, like affiliate defender does?

I used PayPal too and had a bad experience
with them once. Yes, based on that one
experience, it looked like PayPal is protecting
the buyer more than the seller. When dealing
with intangible products, its much more
    troublesome.

Yes, we decode the link and insert the protection to disable &demo=Y. This mean user will not be able to you the demo mode to bypass the payment. Anybody who use 2checkout know that 2checkout support demo mode, however normal user may not know this.

To be frank with you, those who always buy digital products on the internet is normally those who do business on the internet and they are familiar with 2checkout or Paypal. Many lost hundreds of US$ due to this loophole in 2checkout. With our latest technology we have help many who sell digital products on the internet.

masrule, could you let me know the link to linklok you mentioned?

Anyway, i've been consulting a few internet marketers and they
said thieves will always find a way to steal your products no
matter how secure you try to make your website. But, I'd think
there's no harm for me to look for option.

    ps. Still thinking...

    Linklok

I already found my linklok program. If you are interested to purchase it for cheap cheap price do email me. It is workable with 2checkout.

Alternatively, i can pass to you for test and trial run first. If can work, perfectly, then you just pay me through Maybank2u.

    Thanks

There is a good study done in comparing all these payment processors. For small businesses, PayPal is the winner compared to 2Checkout and WorldPay.

However, it seems that here in Malaysia, online payment is still unpopular mainly because of the mindset of the people here. People are scared due to very popular credit card scams (even ATMs).
