Does anybody knows whether I can withdraw money from my Paypal a/c to my brother's bank a/c in the States? I'll be operating in Malaysia. Please advice. Thanks.

So does it means that even if the IP don't match the bank account, that wouldn't cause any problems in the future? Am I speaking the right words here?![]()
Not sure about that. Never try that before. My address is in Perth and I am logging in-out whole year long using SCREAMyx IPI never remit the money out tho

I once used someone's account which was
opened while she was in the States.... but
never took out the money and deposited in
the bank.
I just used the money for buying ads and
stuff and everytime I wanted to do the
transaction, PayPal asked whether I was
traveling (due to different IP add).
I assume it will be the same too, whenever
you wanted to withdraw the fund.
My advice - try it with a small amount of
money first...
... or wait if anyone has more experience with
PayPal answer your question.

PS. PayPal like service?

Thanks for the help guys. Hope somebody out there can give more explanations on this matter.
I am not sure if you can register your account in Malaysia (Malaysian Paypal account) and use a US bank account to transfer money. Actually, I doubt you can do so because Paypal does not support having one account in one country and link to a bank in another country (which includes overseas credit card).
I also do not think that you can verify a bank card(with someone else's detail) to link with your account. I am not 100% confirmed but hearsay that they might suspend your account if they find out.
My suggestion is that you may open an account in Singapore (if possible) since you can withdraw money in singapore dollars to a local bank. Probably MayBank will do the job since you can easily access to the account via ATM card.
Just my suggestion.
in_flu_ence's suggestion should work...
I have a friend (a successful Malaysian internet marketer)
who did that. He told me that he opened a bank account
and applied a credit card from the same bank as well. Then,
he applied for the PayPal account and it worked...
If I can remember the name of the bank, I'll post again...
but I think any bank will do... though, you'll need a
Singaporean address to open a PayPal account... that's
another thing you have to consider.... Singaporean
address, Singaporean bank and Credit Card from that
same bank? Why the same bank? Because you want
to withdraw the money anywhere from Malaysia or
overseas (through Visa or MasterCard) and debit the
balance from your Singaporean bank account.
Alternatively... I'm hoping GreenZap will be more reliable
than Pay Pal once they launch. GreenZap got millions
of hits recently and their servers are jammed. Check
back their website once it's back up. Who knows... you
don't have to apply for a PayPal account anymore soon.

psstt... check this website once a while because their
servers will come back up very soon. If it's not, try
again in a day or two.

I have nothing against GreenZap but I believe that a ecommerce site that can't support the load can never provide a secure solution for online transaction.
As for a Singapore address, you might want to get a virtual business address which handle your mail forwarding and etc. But again, with cost coming in, you might want to reconsider having other options like using WorldPay, 2co, etc.
I won't comment on their creditability since different people have different view but rather give you a broader scope of what everyone are using.
I'm not backing up GreenZap but I'd say that we should
give a look at it. From what I heard, it's going to be almost
like PayPal, but I could be wrong. I'm sure PayPal had
problems before when they were in pre-launch.
As for other merchants, I have ClickBank and 2CheckOut
too but they don't have options like PayPal has - which's
like requesting and transferring fund.

The reason why Paypal started smoothly is due to the strong support by Ebay as their preferred mode of payment. No doubt GreenZap might have a good start in terms of technology, it requires lots of confidences from potential users. Thus, the issue on the load in terms of their service support will be a key issue to foster a good reputation for the start.
No offense against any one and any company.
But I do believe on doing more research on a potential company before a transaction.

I think they can answer your questions more reliably. Hopefully your questions will be addressed.
In any case, after browsing through a lot of threads, I see that we all would like a payment processing service that can deposit the money into our bank accounts - here in Malaysia. Since 2003, I was considering to develop a PayPal like service specifically for Malaysians, however due to some of my business associates advise, I decided to postpone this project.
I would love to develop this project and provide a service to malaysians. Nevertheless, before I go ahead, I'd like to here your ideas and suggestions on this. What do you think?
Mesra,
Dapatkan status Verified. Masukkan credit card info.
(rasanya Pay Pal akan charge a small amount of fee,
then they refund back)
Saya assume Pay Pal account ni dibuka dengan
address Malaysia, so skip Bank Account.
Note that to get verified, you need only credit card
info and that's OK if your intention is not to bring
the money back to Malaysia.
Kalau nak bawak balik that money to Malaysia, it's a
different story.

Owh! Kalau verify guna debit card boleh tak ?. Aiseh, kalau tak verified kira lebur lar duit yang orang send kat saya tu ye. Malang betul nasib.![]()
