    Exclamation Paypal Guide

    Dear All,

I'm new to pay pal payment method and need your assistance about this matter.Well I'm trying to sell my product online and used pay pal as the agent that will handle all this payment process. Do my customer need to open a pay pal account to pay for my product? If not, could you guys tell me how to set it in pay pal. I've tried for several hours and it still went to the page where i need to login username and password for a pay pal account.

I want my customers where they don't have to register a pay pal account and at the same time pay the products they desire in my website using pay pal interface...

    please help me...

If you use paypal as payment gateway, all of your customers must register as paypal user before they can make any payment.

If you and your customer lives in Malaysia, yes they will need a PayPal account to pay. Some countries are able to let users pay directly with their credit card information but not in Malaysia as there are too many fraud cases coming from here.

JLHC is right - outside of Malaysia, I could use Paypal's payment system to pay by credit card without logging in to Paypal. Inside Malaysia, you've got to have a Paypal account and sign into it. I did try to find a statement somewhere on paypal's website to say it was deliberate, but never did find one.

One online shop I set up has plenty of Malaysian customers who are quite willing to type payment details into their own banks' online banking systems, and to walk into a bank to transfer money. If paypal doesn't work for you, it's not the end of the world, even if it's not quite the same 21st century your competitors are working in.

You can check the Malaysian problem using this URL I found at:
Accepting Credit Card in Paypal without Paypal Account - Web Hosting Talk - The largest, most influential web hosting community on the Internet

    Code:
    https://www.paypal.com/webscr?cmd=_xclick&business=
Just add your email address to the end and you'll see what your customers see when they use the paypal checkout. Now try the same thing but with a HTTPS proxy in the USA or Europe. See? An option to pay without signing in.

there no need for the customer to pre-register a paypal acc...
The merchant gateway interface will directly ask the customer to pay via credit card or via their existing account .

If the customer are new to paypal, they make payment via card and after the payment, customer will be given an option to open paypal acc.

i've done a few ecommerce site with this.... and even tried payment with a new credit card of mine without opening a paypal account.

however the merchant need to upgrade to a business account first and use paypal website payment solutions...

please clear your browser cache to expire all stored session and cokies before trying...
once paypal detected cokies that you are a user, they will ask you to sign in instead of paying via credit card...

and even tried payment with a new credit card of mine without opening a paypal account.
Did you do that recently? I'm sure I managed to pay without signing in when I first tested Paypal in Malaysia. But it's not possible now. The account to pay to is a Verified, Limits-lifted, Business Account.

If I try the URL I posted earlier direct from my browser (all cookies deleted, or new browser I've never used before), I get:

Create a PayPal Account or Log In
If I try the same URL, but via the-cloak anonymous web surfing (anonymous proxy) I get:

Pay with Credit Card or Log In
If you really can get that second prompt from Paypal without using a US proxy, I want to know how you got it. Are your sites' customers using merchant software running on your customers' webhosts, or are they redirected to Paypal for the payment? Are your customers using hosting outside Malaysia?

What do you use for your ecommerce sites, eg CubeCart, ZenCart, OSCommerce etc or your own custom script?

Do you think there are settings in these carts that allow the PayPal pament without signing up?

Maybe you can check out this option.
    1. Login to your PayPal business account.
    2. Click on the Profile sub-tab.
    3. Click on the Website Payments Preferences link on the right column.
    4. Scroll down to the PayPal Account Optional section to see if it is On or Off.

    On

I guess it might be just people from Port Dickson who aren't allowed to pay without signing in/up! Did you try those URLs? What paypal message do you get for direct from your browser, and via a non-Malaysian proxy?

The reason I asked about the merchant software on iafl's sites is this: if the customer only interacts with the site software, which forwards the payee details to Paypal, the site will be acting as a proxy. If my problem is a browser-in-Malaysia problem, then if the site was outside Malaysia, that would fix it. If the site is inside Malaysia, then it wouldn't help.

I only believe Malaysian's can't pay without signin to Paypal because I've read a few comments online that say the same. The experiment with the proxy backs up the belief, but doesn't prove it. I can't find a statement from Paypal saying "Malaysians must sign in". I'd be very interested to hear of someone in Malaysia that can use Paypal to pay using a credit card without signing in. One example like that, and I'll have to think of another explanation for the problem!

but before hand, the merchant acc need to be:
    1. A verified Business Account
    2. As what mylinear told - set the PayPal Account Optional section in paypal first.

I get what I was expecting:

Sign up for a PayPal account and continue checkout.

Cancel and return to Softlenseye Express.

    1. A verified Business Account
    2. As what mylinear told - set the PayPal Account Optional section in paypal first.
Well, I already replied to that and said that the case I knew of was set up that way. If softlenseye is setup that way, now I know 2 cases...

I don't need any more examples of how it doesn't work. Can you go through the checkout at softlenseye and verify it gives you an option to pay without signing into Paypal? Now that I've put some effort in, I want to see a screenshot

please clear all your browser private data like cache, expire all sessions, expire cokies and remove all your stored password before trying the site...
as i said before, once paypal detect your browser cache / cokies and you have login paypal before... paypal payment page will straight away ask you to sign-in instead entering the credit card....

after you cleared the browser cache you should see this screen.

    please view at: http://www.elvinlok.com/wmm/1.jpg
after you make the payment via credit card, paypal will prompt to create an account.

if paypal detected you a user via cokies/cache... you should see this screen.

No. You'll be asking me to unplug my router next...

Do you get something different when you do it? And did you try the URL in my previous posts - the one that doesn't require you to delete anything on your PC, and doesn't require you to sign up for products you don't want?

I've tried, it didn't work, it's your turn.

And - you're outnumbered. I say it doesn't work, JLHC says it doesn't work. Where's that screenshot?
