Thread: Got WordPress blog? Have you upgraded?

Hi all...

I am just curious to know if anyone using WordPress have already upgraded their installation?

Like currently WP is 2.2, but seems there are some issues with it...is it okay to upgrade now or wait first?

depend on the upgrade matter.
if SECURITY matter.. i will upgrade, if not so important, i just leave it and upgrade it later (after 1 week, 1 month perhap).. EXCEPT for the big or important site for me laa..

It has been crazy since the 2.0 version of wordpress. It's like a new release every week

WP2.2 is problem free in my case. Though I don't see much changes in my POV as a normal user.

The most notable change in WP2.2 is the ability to change the URL without changing the value in your database, which is good when you want to do some local environment testing, while having your database sync to your realtime online blog. Oh, not forgeting the intergration of widgets engine, which I think is pretty useless for users like me since I like to get my hands dirty playing around with the theme files.

Well, I'll wait for WP 2.2.1 to come out before I upgrade

neh...not really going to upgrade any time in the future unless there's a major change

wp 2.2 don't hv too much changes...it's not about the security...my old one is good enough..

may be just upgrade after few release, example ur current is 2.2, may be when 2.3 or 2.4 only u upgrade it...

so what matter u facing, may be u can list out there share with us...

I'm looking forward to wp2.3, especially the tagging and the revamp draft management in the admin.

Well, WP2.1 is discontinued, so if 2.1 happens to be vulnerable to security attacks, you have no choice but to upgrade 2.2, unless you feel like having an unsecure blog. Unlike the 2.0 branch, you can still continue to use it because it is still actively maintained.

But so far there's no security problems with 2.1, so no worries

if no chnages i am interested in... then i will stick to my current version
